Inconel 600
is an alloy that is comprised of nickel and chromium. This alloy is highly used
in environments that need high corrosion resistance and high temperature
resistance. This nickel alloy was designed for service temperatures from
cryogenic to elevated temperatures in the range of 2000° F. Inconel 600
achieves its property of high resistance under reducing conditions due to its
high nickel content that enables it to resist corrosion by a number of organic
and inorganic compounds. It is for this reason that inconel 600 has superb
resistance to chloride-ion stress-corrosion cracking and also offers excellent
resistance to alkaline solutions.
