Incoloy 800
is an alloy made of nickel, iron and chromium that has superior strength and
excellent resistance to oxidation and carburization in high-temperature
atmospheres. It is also resistant to many aqueous environments. The alloy gets
its excellent resistant properties due to the presence of chromium, which also
contributes in resistance to scaling and stress-corrosion cracking. The high
percentage of nickel maintains an austenitic structure so that the alloy is
ductile. The standard product forms of Incoloy 800 are pipes, tubes, sheets,
rods, plates and wires among others.
